The Rhynd Café, near Tentsmuir
I’m so chuffed to announce that my prints are now being stocked in this wonderful cafe and events venue. They are displayed on a lovely vintage shelving unit on the walls of the café. There are plenty of other other local suppliers to shop with, from fruit to baked goods and even local books. I love the fact that the owners are keen to source only local produce from the surrounding area.

The Rhynd isn’t just a cafe either – the estate also offers award-winning weddings, fitness, clay shooting and farm-to-fork dining.
I’ve been coming to the Tentsmuir area ever since I was wee (long before the café was setup). Some of my fondest memories are of family picnics with my Mum, Dad, Sister and Prince, the dog. He loved the long forest walks and of course the beach too. I still remember, 40 years later, the car blanket we’d all sit on, nestled in the sand dunes. Mum would have made us sandwiches and we’d have strawberries, crisps and vimto. My sister and I would run to the sea which seemed miles away as it’s such a big beach.
Back to where it all began – Tentsmuir Beach
My Kinshaldy beach print is actually one of the first prints I did and what started me off in becoming an artist. I’d created it along with 2 others for my home when I was living in Glasgow and homesick for the East Coast.
I couldn’t find any art I liked which was in my price range so I created it myself. I still feel like this print doesn’t do that place justice as there’s also the amazing forest behind the sand dunes. I’ve taken lots of photos on my last tripe there so I do plan to do more to capture the huge scale, amazing light and pretty pine forest.
Beach Walk to the Rhynd Café
I first discovered the Rhynd Café as an adult a few years ago when I took my photographer friend, Robin to the beach but alas the weather was miserable. Even with good waterproofs and wellies, we got soaked and we couldn’t risk getting our cameras wet for long. We ended up seeking refuge in the café for some much needed coffee and hot chocolate. It’s worth travelling there just for the coffee too by the way – it really is delicious.
My Beach Walk print was the result of that wet day, the only people on the beach for miles around were myself, my friend and a couple of dog walkers. I added the heart in the sand as I just love this place, no matter what the weather. Who needs sunshine anyway – this place is always gorgeous.
